The Community Resource Centre currently has a number of volunteer positions open and we are looking for willing, community minded individuals to lend a helping hand!
Reception/Administrative Assistant~ Our main office in Fergus is a busy place and we are seeking a frontline volunteer to assist at our front desk. Answering the phone, greeting walk in patrons, answering questions and helping people find the information they are looking for is what we require of this position. A friendly disposition and a comfort level in working with the public are necessary as well. No previous office experience is required, just a willingness to learn new skills.
Volunteer Drivers~ In a rural community, transportation is a major factor in the lives of those without access to a vehicle. We provide volunteer transportation to people in need of assistance in getting to medical and other necessary appointments. We are looking for volunteer drivers from all areas of North and Centre Wellington to help meet this need. Volunteers can select their travel area (to Guelph only, willing to go as far as Kitchener or Hamilton etc.) and rides are coordinated based on the availability of the volunteer. Mileage costs are reimbursed on a per kilometre rate. If you have available time during daytime hours, a vehicle in good condition, a clean driving record and a willingness to support those in your community, this may be the job for you!
All volunteer placements are designed to work within the availability of the volunteer, achieving the best match between the program needs the schedule of the volunteer. All the time volunteers have to give is sincerely valued and truly appreciated. We do our best to facilitate a rewarding experience for every volunteer position.
