Arthur Child Care Centre News - Full Story

We have been very busy here at our Arthur child care centre. On June 8th we hosted a Free family BBQ & fun day for the residents of Arthur and our current families who attend the centre. The day involved face painting, crafts, guitar & a sing along, hamburgers & hot dogs, and a play yard full of activities. Everyone who attended had a great time, including the perfect weather! Look for the great write up in the Arthur Enterprise newspaper on June 13, 2008.

At the BBQ the child care centre
announced it will start offering a toddler
program starting September 2008. This
means the centre will be able to
accommodate children 18 months to 5
years of age. We are very excited about
the new adventure and we have had calls
requesting care for this age already.

In the spring our centre participated in
Scholastic’s Classroom Cares Reading
Program. This program required our
families to read a total of 100 books
combined in the months of April and May. If we succeeded then Scholastic would donate 100 books to children in need. Not only did our centre meet the goal of 100, but we exceeded 200 books! We are very proud of the children and families that attend the Arthur Child Care Centre. This success was cause for celebration!

The centre hosted a scholastic book party for the children. Each child made a book mark, received a certificate and received a copy of the book Curious George Goes to the Library.

We are gearing up for the summer months, and looking forward to having new friends start with us in the fall. We currently have spaces available for children 2 .5 to 5 years of age. Please call the centre if you have any questions or concerns. (519-848-6908)
