Community Resource Centre Summer Recreation Program 2008 - Full Story

Program Description

The Summer Recreation Program was designed to meet the needs of the families living in geared to income social housing in rural communities. The program is organized to meet the unique circumstances of the families involved as well as the challenges of living in a rural community where services and programs can be scarce.

The program operates on a daily basis Monday thru Friday 9am to 3pm for one week in July and one week in August. Each of the four communities involved, Fergus, Arthur, Mt. Forest and Palmerston will be served. There are no fees charged for daily participation.

Our overall objective in offering the program is to provide educational experiences that are also fun, physically active and healthy lifestyles in a safe environment for youth in our community.

Our agency’s mandate is to foster self sufficiency and a sense of community. This program works toward that end by helping children see their own potential and feel connected within the community around them to make positive choices for long term success!
