Our History - Continued

This provincial government initiative is the transformation of Family Resource Programs that will bring uniformity to the services provided for children aged 0 to 6 years and their families across the province.

With this expansion to our services we also experienced continued growth in other program areas and soon recognized the need for new and larger accommodations. In July 2003 a change of location was completed and the Community Resource Centre opened its new offices and Ontario Early Years Centre in the historic Groves Mill Building in downtown Fergus.

By August, the child care centre has also relocated, moving full time child care back to the J.D. Hogarth location, with St. Joseph ’s School location offering solely before and after school programming.    Unfortunately, the St. Joseph ’s Child Care Centre was permanently closed in June 2004 as a result of space being required by the school board.

Early Years has also brought changes to the North Wellington program.
